Holiday Inn Express Ramsey-Mahwah by IHG

After a long day, lots of travel, ungodly experience at MetLife stadium. We pulled up prepaid on Priceline. Unlike most places when you use a third party to purchase, the young handsome man who checked us in treated me very friendly. I immediately was relaxed by his kindness. They had complimentary bottled water in the lobby and bananas . They have some great selections of teas which made me very happy. The amenities in the room such as Dove products in bathroom and shower made it more nice. The little things that I enjoyed and noticed made up for all the shortcomings of my trip. I won't even consider staying anywhere else if I come back that way. In the morning the general manager or the owner I'm not sure who he was , he gave me some wipes to clean some things out of my car. I loved it there. Missed breakfast cause I stayed up late and watched a movie on HBO, they have a lot of channels. I'm so picky you wouldn't believe it , so if you're like me this is the spot. Promise, ha. ** Had dinner at Houlihan's pretty much within walking distance and it was great service and good food *** There's a wonderful liquor store in Allendale a couple miles away in a beautiful quaint Boro, cheap!! P.S. this is a message to ownership I wish it could be private, but you go above and beyond that is evident , but you can save some money by turning the air conditioning down in the hallways, I really appreciate the property being cool but it was so on high blast and unnecessary Sunday night

We stayed Thursday-Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were a-little smaller then other Holiday Inn Express Hotels we’ve previously stayed in. However, the room was spotless and had everything we needed for our two night stay. The free breakfast had plenty of options, everything was fresh and tasted great! We love Holiday Inn, no complaints at this location!

4 guests, stayed 7 nights. Wonderful staff, pleasant appearance, Complimentary FRESH GROUND COFFEE, TEA, HOT COCO 24 HRS. Best breakfast of any hotel I've EVER stayed in! We would absolutely stay here again, despite the few things I will mention below. 1. The room's temperature was not consistent. It was either too hot or too cold. 2. Direct TV was all that was available on a dumb TV (not smart) which would blink out if it rained. 3. The most annoying was the hallway noise and water pressure in the shower. Light and movement visible around the entire door, you could hear everything going on outside of the door, which only slammed shut. (Soft closing room doors is a MUST for any hotel) There was plenty of hot water, but it was difficult to rinse off because of the slow trickle of water from the shower. Even with a few issues, the friendly staff, and amenities far made up for the several inconveniences. I think a few easy updates would make this the nicest, most comfortable place to stay.

Simply a great place to put your head down not big on fancy but very clean and quiet. Front desk staff is awesome. We have stayed four times, because we get a good night's sleep for our next days projects. Breakfast is satisfying

The staff is very kind and the hotel is clean and spacious. They had water bottles and bananas available for guests, which was a thoughtful touch. The manager went out of his way to recognize my military service, which was completely unnecessary but deeply appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area!

A great stay at a great property. They take care of the small details (like hot chocolate at the coffee bar!) The only minus on location is the area is beautiful, but hard to walk as there are virtually no sidewalks

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast selection was good and the bottles of water available in the lobby were appreciated. This location is convenient to the Hudson Valley area of New York. Special thanks to the manager who recognized that we had a later sleeper in our party and offered to keep breakfast open just a few minutes longer to accommodate them. That's customer service.

This is a 5 star, 3 star hotel. I've stayed at hotels that charge twice as much and are lower quality than HIE. It's startling. As we entered the hotel, we noticed it was immaculately clean. There was a bowl of fresh and complimentary (not bruised) bananas and bottles of water on a table for guests. We were greeted by name and checked in within about 2 minutes...literally. The lobby offers ample seating that is comfortable and equally functional for eating breakfast or sitting and doing work. Our room wasn't large but everything was well organized, new, functioning and convenient. Sufficient power ports for charging devices. Cabinets had not scratches or damage. Bedding was also immaculately clean. Mattress was comfortable. The air temperature was accurately and consistently maintained by the window unit (which was not overly loud). Plumbing worked well and there was zero mold evident anywhere in the bathroom. For the price, this is definitely a 5 star hotel. It may not offer the largest rooms, but everything else about it is top notch. I wish I had found this earlier as I've stayed at competing brands along Rt 17 in the past and had a much less satisfying experience...on nearly all dimensions. Well done, HIE Mahwah!
